F.A.Q. General Public Q. Can I order products directly from Milex?
A. Our products are not for sale to the general public. We ask that you contact your physician to obtain Milex products.
Q. What are pessaries used for?
A. Pessaries are a non-surgical approach for a variety of indications including Uterine Prolapse (a descent of the uterus in to the vaginal vault), Urinary stress incontinence (women), Rectocele (a hernia of the rectum), and Cystocele (a dissention or Hernia of the bladder into the vaginal vault).
Q. Should I be able to feel a pessary after it is inserted?
A. A properly fit pessary will cause no discomfort and the patient should not even feel the pessary in place.
Q. How and why do I use Trimo-San with my pessary?
A. Trimo San is a vaginal medication intended to help maintain a healthy environment in the vagina. You should consult your health care professional on the use of Trimo-San. Pessary wearers usually use ½ an applicator of Trimo-San 3 times a week for the first week then a ½ applicator 2 times a week thereafter.
FAQ Health Care Professional Q. Can a patient purchase a pessary directly from Milex?
A. A patient can purchase a pessary from Milex only with a prescription form that is filled out and signed by a health care professional. You may contact your local Milex sales representative or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-621-1278 to obtain pessary prescription forms.
Q. Can I charge a Medicare patient for a pessary?
A. Medicare has recently changed some of their rules; it may be possible for you to bill a Medicare patient for a pessary. Please click HERE for complete up-to-date information.
Q. Do any of Milex products contain latex?
A. Milex has only three products that contain Latex. Our Inflatoball Pessary, Word Catheters and Perineal Exerciser. All other Milex products are latex free.
Q. Do insurance carriers reimburse for Kegal Kones or the Perineal
Exerciser?
A. Insurance carriers generally consider these products exercise devices and do not reimburse the practitioner or the patient the cost of these devices.
Q. Does Milex offer fitting sets for their pessaries?
A. Milex has introduced a fitting set for our ring pessaries. Contact your Milex sales representative for the details. If you do not know your Milex sales representative click here (locate representative) and type you zip code for your sales representative voice mail number.
