Abbreviated Information:

Anatomically designed for maximum cell pickup of squamocolumnar junction cells, endocervical cells, and ectocervical cells.

Blade is mildly serrated for slight cervical scraping and embossed on one side for better cell pickup. Sterile and disposable. U.S. patent # 4,384,587.

Small size (yellow) is recommended for nulliparous, post menopausal, and tender cervices. Medium or standard size (white) is used for most patients.

Limitations:

Cell pickup only
For patients at high risk for endocervcal carcinoma, tissue retrieval for histologic evaluation is indicated. (See Endocervical Curette)
